UPDATE: Kruger Park employee bitten by hyena undergoes surgery
The Kruger National Park has given a further update on the restaurant employee who was bitten on the arm by a hyena while sleeping.
The Kruger National Park has given an update on the restaurant employee who was bitten on the arm while sleeping by a hyena in the Berg-en-Dal staff living quarters on Wednesday this week.
As reported by The South African website, the hyena was euthanised following the attack.
The employee was taken to a hospital in Tshwane.

In a Facebook post on Friday, it was confirmed that a specialist had diagnosed the unnamed employee with fractures in her hand that extended to the articular surface and an oblique fracture near her elbow.
She underwent an operation on Thursday night to repair the fractures and is doing well and is very thankful for the good medical care she is receiving. She is in good spirits.
The Kruger National Park page thanked those who have sent their well wishes for a speedy recovery for the employee, adding that ‘we appreciate every single message and have informed her of everyone’s support’.
