After some provinces experienced a severe heatwave and high temperatures, the Weather Service has noted changing patterns and announced the potential for storms.
Here’s more about the weather predictions for this week, and which provinces could be hardest hit by incoming thunderstorms and stormy conditions.

THUNDERSTORMS PREDICTED FOR PARTS OF SOUTH AFRICA
According to the South African Weather Service (SAWS), thunderstorms have been predicted for parts of the country after the heatwave.

Storms and rainy conditions are expected for parts of the week from today, 12 December.
For some of South Africa’s provinces, these conditions might continue for parts of the week as more thunderstorms and rain could still be on the way.
THUNDERSTORMS: WHICH PARTS OF SA ARE AFFECTED?
Only some of South Africa’s provinces are affected by the potential thunderstorms.
The provinces that could be affected by rain and thunderstorms includes Gauteng, Kwazulu-Natal, and North-West.

WHERE’S THE HEATWAVE?
A potential storm prediction might come as a surprise if you’ve experienced any of the recent heatwave, which affected the same provinces – including Gauteng and Kwazulu-Natal.
While the country might see a return to warm conditions this year, for now citizens have been advised to take care and to avoid travel in extreme weather.
