Angler Scott Haraguchi posted the video on YouTube.
In the video, Scott can be seen quietly pulling in his line on calm waters 3km off Hawaii’s O’ahu island.

THE HEAD OF THE SHARK IS SEEN COMING OUT OF THE WATER
“Heard a ‘whooshing’ sound, looked up, and saw a wide brown thing on the side of the kayak. Thought it was a turtle at first,”
he said.

A big shark is then seen coming out of the water and attacking Scott’s kayak.
Scott furthermore said it wasn’t until he got home that he realised he’d pushed the shark’s head away with his foot.
HE IS SEEN PUSHING THE SHARK’S HEAD AWAY WITH HIS FOOT
“I actually only thought the shark rammed the kayak,” he said.
Speaking to local media, Scott said the encounter was a reminder to make the most of his life.
“I realise that life is short. Time is short on earth,” he said.
Meanwhile, earlier this month, a 50-year-old surfer was attacked by a shark while surfing at Supertubes, Jeffreys Bay.

According to the National Sea Rescue Institute (NSRI) Jeffreys Bay station commander Paul van Jaarsveld, the surfer was in good spirits after being bitten by a shark while surfing.
“At 17h30, Wednesday, 3 May, NSRI Jeffreys Bay duty crew were activated following reports of a man bitten by a shark while surfing at Supertubes, Jeffreys Bay.”

A BYSTANDER RAISED THE ALARM AFTER THE SURFER WAS SURFER
He said a bystander had raised the alarm.
“The NSRI Jeffreys Bay rescue swimmers and NSRI medics responded directly to the scene while an NSRI rescue craft was prepared to be launched.
“Private Care ambulance services, Gardmed ambulance services, the SA Police Services, and EC Government Health EMS responded.”
