WATCH Oscar Pistorius Full Interview on Eve of Sentencing

The sentence in the trial of South African athlete Oscar Pistorius, who was found guilty of the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp in the early hours of Valentine’s Day 2013, will be delivered tomorrow.

Ironically the former Olympian and Paralympian’s fate is to be determined by the same judge – Thokozile Mosipa – who originally cleared him of murder and found him guilty of culpable homicide instead (a ruling which was overturned by the Supreme Court of Appeal last year).

In his first television interview about the night he shot Reeva, Pistorius spoke to journalist Mark Williams-Thomas (see below) as he prepared to return to jail. The interview took place at Pistorius’ uncle’s home in Pretoria. He speaks about his relationship with Reeva, allegations of his abusive behaviour and gives his account of the fateful night.

Tomorrow’s court proceedings are due to begin at 09:30 local time.
