It seems like the whole of Broadway turned up for the recording of Burt Bacharach’s hit song “What the World Needs Now is Love” in tribute to those who lost their lives and were injured in the mass shooting in Orlando, Florida, earlier this month.
Forty-nine people died and dozens were injured on June 12 when Omar Mateen opened fire in a LGBT club in Orlando. The proceeds made from sales of the recording “Broadway for Orlando” will go to a center for victims of the Orlando massacre.
The singers in the video include Bernadette Peters, Matthew Broderick and his wife Sarah Jessica Parker, Carol King, Nathan Lane, Fran Drescher, Whoopi Goldberg and Idina Menzel.
