A British man is becoming an internet sensation all over again, as a video from just under two months ago is going viral once more… not only showing the man’s brave actions in fighting off a knife-wielding attacker (and grappling the knife from him) on a busy London bus, but for the first words that came out of his mouth when the attacker fled…
He said: “I’m an African, you’ll never take my life.”
Social commenters have been trying to work out what he meant.
The most popular conclusion came from Uju Bibi Okonkwo who said it “means he came from a place where you have no other option than to be mentally and physically strong to survive. He has experienced things that an ordinary European may not or never have experienced for the the rest of his/her life.”
Matt Cyr said: “In Africa you worry if your village will be invaded by militia daily. In London you worry how hard it’s going to rain. That’s what he means…”
Malo Saros said: “The crime scene [in Stoke Newington] is just about 3 minutes to the police station…. brave guy though. Tell them loud and clear “I am an African; you can’t kill me” I’ve come all the way to Europe to survive but not to die. And so shall it be bro.”
The video has been viewed over 2.3 million times on Facebook. There are also other copies on YouTube.
The brave African was admitted to hospital briefly to have head and arm injuries treated.
