After many years of visa-free entry to Ireland, a new decision by the Irish Department of Justice will now see South African passport holders needing to apply for a visa in order to visit the Emerald Isle.
Starting today, 10 July, nationals South Africa will need to obtain a visa first, before travelling to Ireland.
South Africa will also require a transit visa when wanting to transit through Ireland to another destination.
Now that this has happened, South Africans can now only visit 107 countries visa-free, as per the Henley & Partners Passport Index for 2024. Check them out below:
