“It was another crazy week in the Ukraine,” a South African there reported this week, after he had gone out on the streets of Kiev to record the latest goings-on.
“First, the President was found to have an offshore account. Then the Dutch voted against the EU-Ukraine agreement (this is what set in motion the events of 2013/14) and yesterday the PM resigned.
“On Friday, I took my camera along to a demonstration against the President (his office is around the corner from our place). The demonstrators set fire to some tires. Some pushing and pulling but nothing too dramatic. As is common here, this was all done in front of the cameras.
“And spring finally arrived.”
