‘It’s MAHALA’: Hilarious SANParks Week ad gets us chuckling
Themba Robin’s hilarious SANParks Week ad has us excited. Here’s everything you need to know about the FREE National Parks Week.
That’s right, SANParks Week runs from 16 to 24 September 2023. It grants South Africans access to all participating parks for FREE. Now, in the run-up to SANParks Week, they’ve put together a hilarious ad featuring local comedian Themba Robin.

With his David Attenborough-style delivery, Themba talks about ‘the South Africanus’ species and how we could all use a bit of a break and a free week for National Parks Week. This is the 18th annual SANParks Week.
IT’S MAHALA: SANPARKS WEEK
Each year, the free week acts as an initiative to showcase the best of South Africa’s national parks for National Tourism and Heritage month. It also provides cash-strapped South Africans with the opportunity to explore a local park they might not normally have gone to. Nearly 700 000 extra day visitors were counted previously in participating parks said the organisation.
WHEN AND WHERE CAN YOU VISIT?
SANParks has just released details about Kruger National Park (KNP) which will grant free access from 18 to 22 September 2023. Just be prepared for long queues and plenty of people on those dates.
