CAMPS BAY HOLIDAY HOUSE SCAM

A Belhar mother has claimed that she was scammed out of R12 000 after paying the deposit on a rental for a luxury holiday house in Camps Bay this December in what turnde out to be a holiday house scam.

As reported by IOL, the woman, who asked to remain anonymous, said she saw the beautiful house on Perfect Holidays’ Cape Town’s Facebook page and enquired about it in January earlier this year.

“My cousin went on Facebook and she showed me the place. I then called and a man by the name of Gary referred me to his colleague, Zephane, who said there was an availability,” the Belhar woman said as per IOL.

With the holiday house seemingly perfectly suited to their needs, she paid the deposit of R12 000 to secure their stay for 18 guests from 26-29 December to celebrate her son’s crown birthday on the 27th.

The woman then revealed that before she could pay the outstanding R11 987, she decided to drop by the holiday house for a visit.

She said that they when they got to Camps Bay, “Moolman Road”, which the holiday house was reported to be on, could not be found.
