Cape Town ranks among world’s best cities for 2024
Cape Town has been rated among the most desirable cities in the world to visit during 2024, according to Time Out.
The city of Cape Town is proving to be a global hotspot with several publications and tourism promotion companies naming it as a hot destination for 2024.
This is not the first time the city has been listed as one of the most desirable places for travellers to visit in 2024.

TIME OUT SURVEY
According to CNN, Cape Town has now been ranked number 2 in Time Out’s World’s Best Cities for 2024 ratings.
Time Out surveyed 20 000 city-dwellers across the world, alongside its network of global writers and editors, to compile its list of the best cities in the world.

Factors including the food scene, architecture and cultural events were taken into account.
Time Out says its goal is to provide inspiration for travel but also a global snapshot of city living.

BEST CITIES FOR 2024
Time Out’s most desirable cities in the world for 2024 include:

8. Tokyo, Japan

CAPE TOWN’S BEAUTY
Taking the second spot on Time Out’s list, the coastal city was considered beautiful, by every survey respondent. This is thanks to its stunning combination of sea, cityscape and magnificent mountainous surroundings.
Time Out highlighted the city’s cultural offerings, ranging from late-night museum evenings during summer months to its theatre and comedy offerings at Theatre on the Bay. Also mentioned, is the city’s newly opened Time Out Market.

CAPE TOWN TOURIST ARRIVALS
The Mother City has seen record visitor numbers and rapidly growing air traffic movements in recent times.
It had a bumper holiday season, hosting spiking numbers of visitors over December and January.
This is partly due to the city’s desirability as a tourist destination but also due to marketing efforts and business development by destination development organization Wesgro.
