Zizi Kodwa welcomes Springbok changes
Minister of Sport, Zizi Kodwa has welcomed the new changes to the Springboks and went on to commend Duane Vermeulen as well.
Zizi Kodwa, in his capacity as Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture, has given his stamp of approval for the Springboks’ new-look coaching group which was announced on Tuesday.

SA Rugby finally confirmed that Rassie Erasmus is back at the helm as Springboks head coach, with Kiwi Tony Brown and Irishman Jerry Flannery coming in the new assistant coaches. Mzwandile Stick, Daan Human and Deon Davids retained their positions as assistant coaches.
Recently retired Test referee Jaco Peyper, a four-time SA Referee of the Year, Jaco Peyper, will join the Springbok team as National Laws Advisor.

Additionally, double World Cup winner Duane Vermeulen has been appointed to a roving coaching role with all SA Rugby’s national teams, where he will become the third member of a mobi-coaching unit, joining forces with existing coaches, Franzel September and Bafana Nhleko.

And it didn’t take long for Kodwa to give his professionally opinion on the much talked about coaching set-up.
“I welcome the new appointments to the Springboks technical team. I encourage them to continue the path to elevate SA rugby. I applaud the appointment of recently retired Bok legend Duane Vermeulen, which signifies a key pathway to coaching & sports administration for ex-players,” the Minister of Sport wrote on social media.
He later clarified that the picture attached to his original tweet only features the new appointees and added that Mzwandile Stick is still very much part of the Springbok technical team.
“These are new appointments, Mzwandile Sticks remains assistant coach,” said the Minster of Sport.
