Will Lebo Mothiba ever ”come right” for Bafana Bafana?
Bafana striker Lebo Mothiba returned to the national team after a four year absence. The French based attacker is yet to deliver for Bafana.
Forgotten Bafana Bafana striker Lebo Mothiba made his return to the national team last weekend against Namibia.
Having been out of the team for four years, Mothiba was called to the national team by Bafana coach Hugo Broos which surprised many local football fans.

The 27 year-old RC Strasbourg Alsace striker has never been a fan favourite. During Stuart Baxter’s tenure as Bafana coach, Mothiba featured 14 times for the national team scoring four goals between 2018-19.
LEBO MOTHIBA RETURNS TO THE NATIONAL TEAM
Fans though were not impressed with the striker, who often failed to convert chances.

Mothiba mentioned that two separate knee injuries severely stalled his career but was happy to be back in the national team.
“It’s always a pleasure coming back to South Africa, I’m very happy, it wasn’t easy to come back with the injury I had but now I’m happy that my knee has healed, I’m feeling much better,” Mothiba told the media.

“I didn’t do a pre-season in three years, it was my first with Strasbourg and the pre-season went well. I’m very happy about that and so happy to be back in South Africa and with the group,” he said.
The Strasbourg star scored his first goal of the Ligue 1 season against Lyon in the opening game of the season. Since then, the Mothiba has been rather quiet in front of goals but a call-up to the national team might be what he needs to relaunch his career.

The former Lille striker has had a promising career in the French league but failed to replicate his form at the national team. At 27, he needs to start delivering and scoring goals for fun.
