The South African has discovered that top European coaches are inspired by Mamelodi Sundowns and their style of football and are trying to copy it.

This was explained by coach Rulani Mokwena during a media briefing ahead of the MTN8 clash against Kaizer Chiefs – saying European coaches are emailing him.

WHY TOP EUROPEAN CLUBS WANT TO COPY SUNDOWNS’ STYLE

Mokwena explained that he is receiving emails and messages from various top European coaches who are seriously impressed by Sundowns.

Just during the week, Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro also praised how Sundowns play and singled out their attacking and good defending techniques.

“But if you understand the enormity of the reach in relation to the appreciation of the game we play and things we try to do on the football pitch, the emails and messages I’m receiving from top coaches from European clubs about how they admire and even in a way copy some of the things we are doing.

“That signifies the magnitude of the blessings we have and for sure, as they say, blessings and burdens are cousins.

“The blessing of that comes with the burden of having to maintain that and to keep our feet firmly on the ground and stay focused and continue to improve to be better.”

Despite all the credit and praise from Europe, Mokwena refused to undermine Chiefs whom they face in the MTN8 semi-final this weekend.
