Where is Os du Randt now? Springbok Rugby World Cup hero
It’s been 28 years since South Africa famously won the 1995 World Cup. We take a look at where Springbok hero Os du Randt is today.
The South African website takes a look at what has happened to the heroic starting Springbok XV that memorable day at Ellis Park in Johannesburg. Here, we pay tribute to prop Os du Randt, arguably the greatest South African Test player of all time.

The big man was the last active member of the 1995 Springbok squad, having only fully retired in 2007, after winning a second World Cup title with South Africa 12 years after the first.
Du Randt had initially called time on his career in 2000 due to injuries, but returned to play for Free State three years later.

In 2004, he made his Springbok comeback and in 2007 played his last 80 minutes of rugby in the World Cup final.
Since then, Du Randt who is also a farmer has occupied various scrum coaching positions, including a high profile stint with the Cheetahs, and was a scrum consultant to the Springboks in their 2011 World Cup build-up.
The legendary prop was inducted into World Rugby’s Hall of Fame prior to the 2019 World Cup – and is currently farming full-time.
