Orlando Pirates faces a crisis amidst recent departures as they risk potential loss of key midfielder, Vincent Pule despite his recent contract renewal. Reports hint at a possible loan move, adding uncertainty to his future with the club, according to Soccer Laduma.

ORLANDO PIRATES CRISIS AROUND PULE’S DEPARTURE

Orlando Pirates could lose a first team player who has only recently signed a new contract with the club.

This comes after Thembinkosi Lorch left Pirates recently, and the next player who could be on his way out is reportedly Vincent Pule.

“His move out of Pirates is as good as done. He could have left in January or even before but there were other reasons that stopped the move. Sundowns and SuperSport United were some of the teams who were also interested in him,” commented a Soccer Laduma source.

The publications sources have indicated that the former BidVest Wits midfielder was also on the wanted list of Mamelodi Sundowns but he was not sure about joining their rivals.

“It’s true he just signed a new long term contract last year which runs until June 2025 and has a one-year option but the way things are now he would be the next big player to leave Pirates,” said the source.

“His move out of Pirates is as good as done. He could have left in January or even before but there were other reasons that stopped the move. Sundowns and SuperSport United were some of the teams who were also interested in him.

“Because of his value it may be hard to find a team that could sign him permanently as he has two years remaining on his contract so the next move could as well be a loan move.”

POTENTIAL LOAN MOVE LOOMS FOR VINCENT PULE

“With his current situation at the club it’s highly possible the move would happen in the next window period. That move is on the cards,” the source said.

“As a player he would like to be playing regularly looking at his age. And that gives him a chance for a loan move but all will be finalised at the end of the season as at the moment it’s hard for him to command a place in the squad on a regular basis so a move is imminent whether on a loan or permanently,” continued the source.

A second source added that if the move won’t be permanent then it could even be a loan.

“As a player he would like to be playing regularly looking at his age. And that gives him a chance for a loan move but all will be finalised at the end of the season as at the moment it’s hard for him to command a place in the squad on a regular basis so a move is imminent whether on a loan or permanently,” continued the source.

The 31-year-old has only played seven DStv Premiership and one Carling Knockout Cup game where he had earned one assist in the former competition.

Pule joined Pirates in July 2023 and signed a five-year contract which expired last year and it was then renewed for the next three years.

The Orlando Pirates crisis brings uncertainties due to Vincent Pule’s future. Pirates might soon have to deal with the departure of yet another key asset from their squad. Time will tell for sure.
