Thuso Phala sheds light on age cheating
Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Thuso Phala is shining the light on the age old taboo of age cheating in amateur football.
Former Kaizer Chiefs and SuperSport United winger Thuso Phala has lifted the lid on the long-standing issue of age cheating in amateur football, leaving the football world in awe.
The ex-Bafana Bafana player has come forward as a victim of this unethical practice, boldly revealing the harsh reality that needs to be addressed immediately.

During an interview with Kota and Chill Podcast, Phala spoke about his career journey and also admitted that he has two ages he uses in his life; football age and his actual age.
“Do you want to know my age or the football age? After all, there is age that you leave at home and then there is football age, which you use on the field,” said Phala last year.

“My football age is what you see right now, and there is something I left at home. Thuso Phala who played football is this age that you know.”
The former Kaizer Chiefs winger recently retired from football following his remarkable 15-year career and has won numerous trophies.

“Will they now take away the medals and trophies that I have won if they find out my real age, and say that I am a defaulter? If that is a crime, let’s leave it at that.
“How can you retire at the age of 34? This thing is only a problem in development ranks, it is not a problem at the higher (paying) level,” Phala said.

According to various sources, Phala is 37 years old, but he may be closer to 40 years old, if not older.
