Themba Mshishi Zwane close to sealing a new deal
Sundowns star, Themba Mshishi Zwane is close to signing a new deal with the club as Rhulani Mokwena pushes to keep him.
At 34, Mamelodi Sundowns skipper Themba ‘Mshishi’ Zwane is not slowing down and he is close to sealing a new deal.
The former Vardos FC star nicknamed Mshishi is said to be close to agreeing and sealing a deal at Chloorkop with Sundowns.

Phakaaathi reports that the reigning DStv Premiership champions, Sundowns are close to reaching an agreement on a new deal with Mshishi that will keep the veteran midfielder at the club for three more seasons.
Still yet to arrive in Mzansi following their Afcon exploits with Bafana Bafana where Mshishi netted two goals and provided a single assist, Zwane remains one of the inspiring stars at Sundowns.
The South African understands that the Bafana star’s current deal expires at the end of the season but Sundowns have a one-year option.

The football publication also reports that the Brazilians, Sundowns are set to offer Mshshi a two-year deal as they are seriously keen to retain one of their longest-serving players.
“The player and the club are not worried as a new deal is on the cards. Themba is valued by Sundowns and he’s also not thinking about leaving,” a source told Phakaaathi.
“Rulani also values Mshishi because he’s still consistent even at his age. You can see this season that his time on the pitch is being managed.
“He’s also a leader in the team and his influence in the change room is also important. Expect an announcement about the extension to be made before the season ends.”

It has also come to this publication’s attention that the Tembisa-born Zwane’s new deal could be announced before the end of the current season.
Taking a look at Mshishi’s contribution under coach Mokwena at the table-topping Sundowns so far, he has featured in 26 matches and has one assist and as many goals across all competitions.

In addition, since joining Sundowns in 2011, Zwane boasts all domestic trophies including the coveted CAF Champions League, Super Cup, and the African Football League.
