Thamsanqa Gabuza issued with a warrant of arrest
Thamsanqa Gabuza was issued a warrant of arrest after failing to appear before the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court.
A warrant of arrest was issued against former Orlando Pirates star Thamsanqa Gabuza after he failed to appear before the Alexandra Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

Gabuza failed to appear before the courts on his fourth appearance. The TS Galaxy star is being charged with malicious damage to property.

THAMSANQA GABUZA ISSUED WITH A WARRANT OF ARREST
The court’s last sitting was postponed for mediation between the 36-year-old star and the complaint. Instead, Gabuza pulled a no-show, leaving the courts with no option but to issue a warrant of arrest against him.
However, his next court appearance will be on 15 February. Failure to appear before the courts will result in a police arrest.

The TS Galaxy has been trending after he failed to appear before the courts with Mzansi trying to connect the dots about his whereabouts. Gabuza has yet to reveal the reasons behind his absence.
When approached for comment, Gabuza’s lawyer Ngobeni said the star did not come to court due to ill health. “I do not know where he is. He did not come to court because he was not feeling well. He is currently receiving medical intervention,” he said.

MALICIOUS DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
In a statement, the South African Police Service (SAPS) explained that on 11 November, Gabuza visited his ex-girlfriend at her home in Sandton, where the incident allegedly occurred.
“The complainant said Gabuza allegedly asked her for sex but then she refused. It is then that the soccer star became aggressive and roughly pushed her against the wall towards her bedroom.
“The complainant allegedly managed to free herself and ran back to the lounge. Gabuza is accused of following her, snatching her cellphones and smashing them against the wall.”

Against his arrest, Gabuza’s legal representative, Themba Ngobeni, said the football player would not miss a court date, but that hasn’t been the case.
“He won’t miss a court date, he will be available and cooperate during proceedings,” Ngobeni said.
