Steve Komphela breaks his silence on Swallows drama
Musa Nyatama has taken charge over training sessions at Moroka Swallows as the drama between Steve Komphela and the club unfòlds.
Former Mamelodi Sundowns senior coach Steve Komphela has broken silence on his Moroka Swallows future which is still not clear.

In an interview with Radio2000 as per UnplayableZA, Komphela revealed that he has not set foot at the Swallows training grounds since December.

This follows reports that he was denied entry by the Dune Birds when a section of players were called and allowed back at the club for training.

Swallows dismissed 22 players in January as punishment for being at the forefront of a strike that led to the two missed fixtures in December 2023.
Now, Komphela said at the time, the Swallows management said there will be no resumption of training until further notice.

He added that he hasn’t heard from anyone at the club but he hopes a decision on whether he stays or leaves is made sooner rather later.

“I was not denied entry to the training venue because I didn’t even go there. I’m still waiting for communication from the office because after the games were cancelled in December, we were told that training should not resume until further notice,” said Komphela.
“The season resumes next week. Maybe there will be a change and sanity will prevail and we will find a way forward. But right now, I’m just sitting back and watching this movie unfold,” he added.

Meanwhile, Swallows will visit Cape Town City in their next DStv Premiership match which is scheduled for Tuesday, 13 February.
