Steve Hansen links up with Wallabies in shock move

Last week the Wallabies were rocked by the news that one of the key members of the team’s backroom staff had resigned a day before the Australians travelled to France for the Rugby World Cup. In an unexpected twist, the team has roped in former All Blacks coach, Steve Hansen to give the team a mich needed boost.

In an unexpected exit, attack coach Brad Davis was not part of the traveling group that left Australia after resigning from his position due to ‘personal matters’.

Davis had only been in his role for four months, having been recruited by Eddie Jones in May from London Irish, where he served as defence coach.

Asked about a replacement, Australia coach Eddie Jones hinted at having something up his sleeve: “I think there’s an opportunity for us and I think we’ll improve our coaching staff. Tricks mate. It’s under the hat. There’s a potential candidate ready to step up now. As I said, I think we’ll improve the coaching staff.

“Any coach that comes in is to add not take away and I’m overseeing the attack anyway, as I have been.”

Notably, it’s now reported by Stuff.co.nz that former World Cup-winning All Blacks coach Steve Hansen will join the Wallabies in an advisory role as they prepare for a warm-up match against France in Paris this weekend.

Hansen has apparently agreed to share some of his insights before the Wallabies kick off their World Cup campaign, but may only be with Australia for about a week.
