Stanley Nwabili responds to Kaizer Chiefs transfer links
Kaizer Chiefs rumoured transfer target, Stanley Nwabili addressed speculation of his possible link to the Soweto giants next season.
One of Kaizer Chiefs’ reported targets for ahead of next season, Stanley Nwabili has finally responded to speculation about joining the club.

Chiefs are currently sixth on the DStv Premiership log, with interim coach Cavin Johnson dismissing the possibility of new signings.

Johnson has often alluded to the media that, he believes in the current crop of players at Chiefs. For that reason he says he just needs more time to coach them, rather than go into the market. Although many may have taken his statements with a pinch of salt, as they sounded diplomatic, they may be true.

So far during this transfer window, Chiefs have been linked with the likes of Fawaaz Basadien from Stellenbosch FC. Oswin Appollis of Polokwane City has also made the list as well as Riaan Hanamub of AmaZulu. Another player that was linked with the club is Swedish based attacking midfielder Tashreeq Matthews. In the goal keeping department, they have also been heavily linked to Nigerian international goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili.

It is believed that Chiefs are putting out all the stops, trying to sign Nwabili, with talks already underway. The plan is to sign him ahead of the next season, but his exploits for Nigeria at Afcon are making it tough for Amakhosi. According to KickOff.com, the player has spoken out on the chances of joining the Glamour Boys next season.

“I’m not a manager, and also you are not a manager, so no. I don’t love any club, I only know Chippa United. I don’t want to focus on club matters right now.” Nwabili said on Chiefs speculation to the publication.

On Monday, this publication reported that Chippa had reportedly placed a price tag of 2 million Euros on Nwabili. That comes on the back of great performances for Nigeria at the Afcon thus far. He is joint with Bafana Bafana’s Ronwen Williams for most clean sheets with duo set to face off Wednesday. That amount translates to R40 million in local terms and may just price Chiefs out of a deal.

Chiefs are reported to have offered Bruce Bvuma a two-year contract extension. This could see him finally get a run as the club’s number one next season, instead of Nwabili.
