We have a pretty good idea who Rassie Erasmus and SA Rugby are considering hiring as one of the new Springboks coaches based on a hint he dropped.
The Springboks are in the market for two new technical members.
Moreover, they have some big boots to succeed with their predecessors Jacques Nienaber and Felix Jones having achieved so much.

RASSIE HINTS AT BRINGING STORMERS MAN TO SPRINGBOKS
Rassie teased the possibility of bringing in a Stormers technical member, earlier this year.
With the Boks in the market for a defence coach, Norman Laker is the Stormers man that they would be looking at.

He is the current Stormers defence coach. As previously mentioned, Rassie hinted at the possibility of hiring a Stormers coach.
Furthermore, we know it is not John Dobson since he has committed to the Cape-based outfit until 2027.

Laker has played an instrumental role at the Stormers since joining them in 2020.
During his three years at the club, the Stormers won the 2022 United Rugby Championship before finishing as runners up in 2023.

Ultimately, Rassie must find two defence-based experts to replace Nienaber and Jones. Although Nienaber was head coach, he took control of the Boks defence whilst Jones was also involved as a defence performance analyst. Bok legend Duane Vermeulen has been earmarked to be one of the defensive coaches.
Therefore, Laker is one of the leading candidates for the other vacancy in the Bok setup.
