A total of SEVEN Springboks who were a part of the 2023 Rugby World Cup-winning squad are currently sidelined with injuries. Here is the full list.

Rassie Erasmus and the Springboks have a couple of injury concerns at the moment.

In fact, some players are still nursing injuries from the Rugby World Cup. Whilst, a few more top stars have picked up knocks recently.

Koch, Marx, Mbonambi and Snyman have not featured since picking up injuries in the RWC in France.

Furthermore, Smith has been ruled out of action for five months. He sustained an adductor longus tendon rupture in January and is now at risk of missing the July Tests against Ireland.

Meanwhile, de Klerk (knee) and Kriel (thumb) are both currently out of action too. However, both men are expected to be fit for the July Test matches against the Irish, according to SARugbyMag.

“The operation went well,” said De Klerk. “I will be 100% ready for the Tests,” de Klerk stated on the same publication.

RASSIE RECOVERING FROM CHEMICAL BURNS

The Springboks head coach is recovering well in hospital following his ‘freak’ accident with a chemical detergent.

“Rassie Erasmus is recovering in hospital following a medical procedure for chemical burns sustained in a freak accident using a powerful detergent product. He is otherwise in good health and expects to return to full-time working within weeks,” SA Rugby confirmed.
