DUANE VERMEULEN SET TO BECOME SPRINGBOKS DEFENCE COACH
Recent reports stated that Rassie is set to appoint Springboks legend Duane Vermeulen as the new defence coach.
Furthermore, he was spotted in the coaches Boks during the South Africa vs Ireland group stage match in the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

Bok management have reportedly decided on Vermeulen for the 2024 season.
“I’m told the announcement may be delayed but the decision has been made – Thor is going to be running the Bok defence in 2024. Assuming my sources are in the know, it’s a genius move,” the report read on SARugbyMag.

Rassie Erasmus looks set to take the reigns in what will be an exciting return for all South African fans.
Moreover, he is tasked with appointing two new coaches before he selects his first squad to take on Ireland in 2024.

RASSIE ERASMUS HINTS AT HIRING NORMAN LAKER
Norman Laker is the current Stormers defence coach. Earlier in the year, Rassie hinted at potentially hiring a Stormers staff member.
So, we know John Dobson has ruled himself out of contention. Therefore, Laker is likely to be the man he is referring to. Furthermore, since both Nienaber and Jones were involved in defence it makes sense to hire two defensive experts.
