Siya Kolisi comments on Owen Farrell: He’s just misunderstood!
Siya Kolisi has revealed he is a great admirer of fiercely competitive England star Owen Farrell, who could be heading to France.
Following the 2023 Rugby World Cup, Owen Farrell announced that he was taking a break from international rugby “in order to prioritise his and his family’s mental well-being”. Soon after that bombshell news came to light, it was then reported that the Saracens stalwart is set to take up a deal playing in France with Racing92, the same club as Springbok captain Siya Kolisi.

SIYA KOLISI AN ADMIRER OF OWEN FARRELL
When talking on The Big Jim Show, Kolisi said he would warmly welcome Farrell should he opt to join Racing.
“I hope he f***ing comes. I hope he does,” he told The Big Jim Show. “I love Owen; I really like him. I speak to him every now and then. I don’t understand why people don’t like him; I just think he’s f***ing competitive, which is what you want.
“It’d be great for us if he could come. He’s really a good leader, I think he’s very competitive and he’s just misunderstood,” Kolisi added.

REASON FOR A CHANGE OF SCENERY
Meanwhile, legendary former Ireland player Brian O’Driscoll believes that the level of abuse directed at Owen Farrell has led him to reconsider his international career.
“Maybe it feels as though it’s an opportunity to escape that for a while, live in another city and have a great time with his with his young family. The other thing, as well as this one, doesn’t feel like it’s as financially motivated move. He’s paid very well here in the UK and does well internationally.
“What he’s going to make over there won’t be significantly higher than what he makes here you wouldn’t imagine, comparatively to other players that can go and double their salary over in France.
“So this one feels as though it might be more of a move that will work out for him and his family and from a rugby point of view just to change things up.”
