Kaizer Chiefs will be in action again this weekend, but not every player is always available for selection. Former Bafana Bafana defender, Sifiso Hlanti has been suspended by the Premier Soccer League (PSL) after racking four yellow cards.

Amakhosi will be taking a break from league football to pursue cup glory. The battle will be a Nedbank Cup last 32 game. The opposition is the Motsepe Foundation Championship (MFC) side Milford from KwaZulu Natal.

According to an update from the Premier Soccer League referees, as confirmed by FARPost, Hlanti has accumulated four yellow cards. This means that the 33-year-old left-back will miss this weekend’s game.

“Kaizer Chiefs will be without their first-choice left-back Sifiso Hlanti after the 34-year-old picked up four yellow cards,” Otis Ntshangase reported.

“The former Bafana Bafana defender was first cautioned in a match against Cape Town City FC in the MTN8. He then got three yellow cards in the DStv Premiership in matches against Mamelodi Sundowns, AmaZulu FC and Royal AM,” the report added.

CAVIN JOHNSON UNHAPPY

Meanwhile, interim coach Johson was left unhappy last weekend. Chiefs delivered a dreary 0-0 draw with Royal AM at the Harry Gwala Stadium.

“I don’t know what I need to say,” Johnson said to SuperSport, as quoted by iDiskiTimes.

“Yes, we missed very big chances. I think we missed four one-on-ones, Ashley [Du Preez] had four times one-on-ones, he should have scored the goal. We didn’t get it. But did we play well today? No, I don’t think so. I am not happy with my performance as our team, I think our team is a lot better than what we showed today.

“Yes, their goalkeeper gets man of the match, ja, it tells you a lot, but as a tactician, as a guy who sits on the bench, and watching his team play, and watching what his team went through at training sessions, and how they can play, and how they can be more confident on the ball, ja, we didn’t see a lot of that.

“We didn’t see enough of that in order for us to, yes, we missed the chances, but we should have really, really won the game,” the Chiefs tactician concluded.
