It’s been quite a long wait, but the SA Rugby awards for 2023 will finally be unveiled on Thursday night as the ceremony returns to an in-person event in Johannesburg.

Last year was an incredible one for SA Rugby, and particularly the Springboks, as they powered to a fourth World Cup title – ultimately returning to the No 1 spot in the world rugby rankings as a result.

At franchise level, the Stormers excelled once again, while on the domestic scene, there was a memorable resurgence from the Free State Cheetahs.

On an individual level, there were numerous standout performers, but when it comes to the Springboks – Eben Etzebeth was once again the standout – and the big lock is expected to walk away with the Men’s Player of the Year award once again.

To see all of the awards being handed out, viewers in South Africa can tune in to SuperSport Blitz channel 200, or the rugby channel 211, from 6.30pm onwards.
