Ronwen Williams on fatigue, ready for AFCON
Bafana Bafana skipper Ronwen Williams admits to fatigue but says he is ready to fight for the AFCON title in Cote d’Ivoire.
Ahead of the highly awaited AFCON tournament, Bafana Bafana skipper Ronwen Williams admits to fatigue but he declares readiness to fight.
Williams says travelling in and out of the country with Mamelodi Sundowns has led to mental fatigue but they have a job to do at AFCON.

The 1996 African champions will open their AFCON assignments against Mali on Tuesday next week and the Bafana skipper, Ronwen Williams wants to make the nation happy.
At the same time, the former SuperSport United skipper provides an update on his injury, saying it’s just a niggle and he will be ready for the Bafana opening match.
As also reported by The South African, Williams failed to train with Bafana during the training camp in Stellenbosch following a niggle on his knee.

BAFANA SKIPPER RONWEN WILLIAMS ON FATIGUE, READY FOR AFCON
The 31-year-old Bafana skipper, Williams has featured in 26 games for the reigning DStv Premiership champions Sundowns acorss all competitions – he says it’s been tough for him.
With days before getting their Group E AFCON assignment, Williams says it’s been tough for him to balance his club and Bafana duties.
“Obviously, it’s tough as much as they try by all means to help us with all the recovery protocols and the rest, sometimes it becomes too much,” Williams told the media.

“Especially travelling because the continent is big. One day, you are up north and the next day in the south, so it’s difficult to see towards the end of our campaign in December, we didn’t have the legs.
“Sometimes, mental fatigue as well and I think that is the most serious one. The physical fatigue, you can deal with but once you start feeling the mental one that’s when you don’t enjoy football.”

The Gqeberha-born shot stopper, Williams adds that he will be ready to don the Bafana shirt and wear the armband when they meet the Eagles of Mali.
“It is just a niggle that I got on my knee. It’s something that always comes out when there are a lot of games,” adds Williams.
“So, it’s nothing serious. It’s just something that I need to manage, something that I need to look after.

“I’ve been getting wonderful treatment in camp since I got here, so yeah, I will be on the pitch in no time.”
Meanwhile, coach Hugo Broos will wait on the outcome of the medical assessment on Sundowns and Bafana defender Mothobi Mvala who is suffering from a groin injury.
