As was the case four years ago, Frans Malherbe remains the incumbent tighthead prop in the Springboks’ World Cup squad as they prepare to head to France.

It wouldn’t be wrong to describe Frans Malherbe as the glue that keeps the Springboks’ front row together and firing. The big man has played 63 Tests since making his debut in 2013 and he has scrummed all comers into oblivion more often than not in his 10-year international career.
