Orlando Pirates star attracts interest of Moroccan giant
A shock Orlando Pirates star is being eyed by a Moroccan giant ahead of the next season, according to the latest reports.
Orlando Pirates are already planning for the next season, with both incomings and outgoings in focus.
Pirates made a number of signings during the off-season, as well as the January transfer window.
They signed Melusi Buthelezi from TS Galaxy, Siphelo Baloni from All Stars FC and Katlego Otladisa from Marumo Gallants. They were joined by Karim Kimvuidi, Lesedi Kapinga and Patrick Maswanganyi. Then in January, Pirates added the duo of Thabiso Lebitso and Thalenthe Mbatha. In January, stalwart Thembinkosi Lorch and Bienvenu Eva Nga both left the club for Mamelodi Sundowns and Chippa United respectfully.
Those players are expected to be followed out of the exit door by a few more, in the coming window. The likes of Zakhele Lepasa, Souaibou Marou, Sandile Mthethwa, among those touted for an exit. Besides those players, playmaker Kabelo Dlamini will also see his deal at Pirates expire at the end of the season. Now, according to Soccer-Laduma, Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca are interested in his services.
RAJA CASABLANCA INTERESTED IN DLAMINI
“Actually it’s coach Zinnbauer who wants him (at Raja Casablanca). He has apparently already talked to the people who are involved with Kabelo (Dlamini). I understand he has been given the go ahead at his team in Morocco to look for the players who he thinks can help the team fight for the league title next season and Kabelo’s name is on top of the list.” Said one source to the publication.
A second source confirms that Pirates have also not given up on keeping Dlamini, despite Raja Casablanca’s interest.
PIRATES STILL FIGHTING TO KEEP HIM
“His (Dlamini) current (Pirates) contract comes to end in June and the way things are looking now, the coach and the technical team are happy with his performances and they would want to renew his contract and keep him at the club. The talks for his new contract are also ongoing and it will be very tough to make the final decision whether to keep him or let him go to Morocco. Things will be clear at the end of the season. But what we know is Raja Casablanca are serious about him,” said the second source.
Although not a regular starter, Dlamini has proven to be a solid squad player for Pirates since joining. This season, he has made 11 appearances for the Buccaneers. Maybe a move to Raja Casablanca can see him become a regular starter.
