KAIZER CHIEFS MUST BATTLE ORLANDO PIRATES, STELLIES NOT KEEN TO SELL
Stellenbosch FC’s CEO Rob Benadie has revealed that Chiefs have made a formal approach for their star midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa. The club, however, is not keen to release the 28-year-old midfield schemer. Chiefs currently have first-choice pairing Edson Castillo and Yusuf Maart in the engine room, with Siyethemba Sithebe and Samkelo Zwane struggling to get regular minutes in the first team.
“A few clubs have shown interest, including an offer from Chiefs, but as of today [Saturday], he remains firmly with us,” Benadie said as quoted by SABC Sport.

MTHETHWA IS A SPECIALIST NUMBER 6
Sibongiseni Mthethwa does his best work at the base of midfield, breaking up attacks and distributing the ball over short distances to spring his team’s own passing sequences. Right now, Kaizer Chiefs are using hybrid players in the shape of Edson Castillo and Yusuf Maart. Maart is naturally more inclined to go forward but is being tasked with a box-to-box role. Similarly, Castillo is a complete package player who can do a bit of everything. If Mthethwa were to arrive at Naturena, it would free Venezuelan star Castillo up to bomb forward with more regularity.
