Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki has pleaded with Khosi fans to give him time to establish himself at the club.

The former Bafana Bafana coach started the season poorly, winning only once in four games.

Last weekend, angry Kaizer Chiefs fans showed their frustration by throwing missiles at the team after Amakhosi lost 1-0 to TS Galaxy in a DStv Premiership match at the Mbombela Stadium. Ntseki had to be escorted out of the stadium.

Chiefs are yet to win a trophy in eight seasons but Ntseki believes he has what it takes to turn things around at the club.

“You look at what happened to Pitso Mosimane when he was at Sundowns. I think it shows that at times when we’re not patient with ourselves, we end up maybe becoming too hard on ourselves as things are not going according to our plan,” said the Kaizer Chiefs coach.

Ntseki mentioned that some of the best coaches in the world like Pep Guardiola and Alex Ferguson struggled initially in their first seasons before getting good results.

“I look back at some of the top coaches, like Alex Ferguson when he joined Man United. People were not happy with him in the first season, but he ended up becoming the most successful coach at Man United.

“I look at Pep Guardiola when he joined Man City — the first year was not a very good year. But he ended up becoming the best coach in the world and the team he manages [Man City] is the best in the world,” Ntseki was quoted on Times Live.
