Having moved to the Soweto giants on a loan deal from Real Santa Cruz, Gonzalez made his maiden start for Chiefs in the draw against Royal AM last weekend – the club’s boss Ntseki looks at his impact and why he is different.

CHIEFS BOSS NTSEKI ON NEW AND DIFFERENT GONZALEZ
While Gonzalez has the stature of a typical target man for Chiefs, Ntseki looks at his impact and why he is different from Chivaviro and Bimenyimana.
“I’ll always make reference to how Man City used to play without a striker. They were still very effective,” the Chiefs boss told journalists per iDiski Times.
“When I look at Chivaviro and Gonzalez, basically we are not going to play a game where we have a striker who is standing there all the time, whose helping the centre-backs defend the goal side.
“With him, we’ve got someone who’s very mobile. Somebody who when he’s on the sides he can be a winger, he can take players and he’s very strong on the ball.

“I think it’s a very good mixture in terms of us doing a proper profile of him. I think he will help us a lot going forward, because it’s not only about him being a target man.”

In addition, the former Bafana Bafana boss said the 24-year-old Colombian striker, Gonzalez can be versatile and looks at what the hitman brings to the club.

He revealed he plans to sue him as a reference point but can be used in various positions.
“It’s about him being a reference point. Reference points can be on the side, reference points can be in the midfield, reference points can be at the top,” he added.

“The most important thing is how you move those defenders to create those scoring opportunities. I think overtime he will be a player with Ranga that will help us going forward.”
Following the draw against Thwihli Thwahla, Amakhosi are now placed in the seventh spot on the log table with eight points from six matches so far.
