SCOTTISH TALENT IN DEMAND
Scotland’s efforts in the Six Nations, where they tested both Ireland and France before beating England, have generated interest around their star players.
Jones is among those with his exciting form in the Six Nations augmented by stellar showings in the URC and Champions cup.
The move could be a big loss for Glasgow Warriors who have been the pick of the pair of Scottish teams in the URC and Europe.
There was also interest in Jones from Aviron Bayonnais.
SOUTH AFRICAN CONNECTION
Jones has a strong connection to South African rugby from his stint at the Stormers which ignited a professional career.
Coming to Cape Town for a gap year, Jones made the most of his chances to play club rugby.
He was a sensation in the Varsity Cup for Ikeys which got the attention of Western Province and the Stormers.
Jones hadn’t played professional rugby in Scotland at the time of his international debut.
He left the Stormers in 2017 to join the Glasgow Warriors.
