Harris beat France’s Hugo Gaston 6-0, 6-2 in his final qualifying match to reach the 128-player main draw in Melbourne.

A defeat for Harris in the opening round will see him bank A$120 000 (R1.5 million), while a win would guarantee him a minimum of A$180 000 (R2.25 million).
