Moroka Swallows coach Steve Komphela says Andile Jali can elevate his game to even greater heights if he gets into shape.
Despite being 33 years of age, Steve Komphela believes Andile Jali can elevate his game to even greater heights if he gets into shape.
Jali joined Moroka Swallows before the start of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership having left Mamelodi Sundowns after five years.

The former Bafana Bafana midfielder was made captain of the Dube Birds and has so far played 11 games in all comeptitions.
Komphela, who also left Downs to join Swallows, says the midfielder is not at is best due to missing a lot of action last season at Downs

“The only thing that we have worked on is that he should get top shape, he’s not in top shape yet. But he’s better than the Andile we started with at the beginning of the season,” Komphela was quoted on FARPost.

“Which is why you see how he plays in terms of brains, the guy has got another level of thinking.”

“You don’t teach a lion to hunt, you don’t teach a crocodile to bite. It’s just the instinct of a crocodile to be monstrous.

“There are certain things that he does and we learn from him. You can never teach a player to pass the ball. How do you tell a player to pass the ball, that’s not a play station. The guy always makes the right decision all the time,” Komphela said about his captain.
Having lost their third game of the season, Swallows drop to sixth on the log.
Komphela’s side next play Orlando Pirates in another Sowerto Derby.
