Pirates recently released striker Bienvenu Eva Nga, now Chiefs seem to be ready to pounce on the player.

Eva Nga was finally released by Pirates this week, after one-and-a-half seasons of limited opportunities. The Cameroonian spent most of his first season without making much of an impact for Jose Riveiro’s side. That, to such an extent that many thought he would be regarded surplus to requirements at the Buccaneers much earlier.

After a few seasons at Chippa, his efforts would soon catch the eyes of bigger clubs in the DStv Premiership. Initially he was linked to Pirates’ archrivalChiefs, with there being confirmation of a transfer fee agreement already in place between the two clubs. That agreement then seemed to fall through after the sacking of Amakhosi’s former coach Stuart Baxter.

If the latest reports are to be believed, it seems the move to Chiefs could end up happening after all. According to Soccer-Laduma Amakhosi have already made an enquiry for Eva Nga post his Pirates release.

“It has been quick but it’s a thing that was was already there. Yes, Chiefs are one of the clubs that have already inquired about him. That interest was there before and now it could work even to their favour because he is a free agent. There are other clubs interested as well including his former club Chippa United. You know it only happened yesterday so it could take time and teams won’t rush now since he is a free agent. But Chiefs are in front for now,” said the source to the publication.

A second source shed more light on an alternative Eva Nga could go for to Chiefs
MIDDLE EASTERN INTEREST?
“He won’t be short of options. Apart from the local teams interested in him there is a club in Kuwait as well. That club started asking about him while he was still a Pirates player. I think they would also jump into the chance that he is now a free agent and maybe sign him,” said the source.

It remains to be seen if Chiefs would sign Eva Nga, especially after he ended up flopping at Pirates.
