Kaizer Chiefs set to begin talks for top transfer target!
Kaizer Chiefs are believed to be ready to press on with negotiations for a top target, as they hope to iron out a move for the player.
Kaizer Chiefs may not be set to make moves in the current transfer window, but are already targeting the next.

Chiefs are currently sixth on the DStv Premiership log, with interim coach Cavin Johnson dismissing the possibility of new signings.

Johnson has often alluded to the media that, he believes in the current crop of players at Chiefs. For that reason he says he just needs more time to coach them, rather than go into the market. Although many may have taken his statements with a pinch of salt, as they sounded diplomatic, they may be true.

So far during this transfer window, Chiefs have been linked with the likes of Fawaaz Basadien from Stellenbosch FC. Oswin Appollis of Polokwane City has also made the list as well as Riaan Hanamub of AmaZulu. Another player that was linked with the club is Swedish based attacking midfielder Tashreeq Matthews. In the goal keeping department, they have also been heavily linked to Nigerian international goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili.

Additionally, the likes of Sage Stephens and Siphesihle Mkhize have also recently made the Chiefs list. But with what team manager Bobby Motaung has said, it seems like none will be joining in January. But that does not mean they won’t be working on a deal to sign one of those players in Nwabili.

“Expect Chiefs to begin formal talks for Stanley Nwabili in the coming weeks. He is a player that the club has been monitoring for his progress at Chippa and now at Afcon for Nigeria. He is a good goalkeeper who is seen as a potential replacement for Khune” said a source speaking to Soccer-Laduma.

Seeing that Nwabili is the first choice keeper for Nigeria, Chiefs will need to move quickly to sign him. He has already attracted overseas interest and could garner even more after Afcon.
