Kaizer Chiefs renew interest in Mamelodi Sundowns coach

Kaizer Chiefs have renewed interest in Sundowns assistant coach Manqoba Mngqithi. Furthermore, his contract is set to expire at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Amakhosi management are looking at bringing in a new coach when this season commences.

KAIZER CHIEFS SHOWED RENEWED INTEREST IN SUNDOWNS ASSISTANT

Manqoba Mngqithi was previously linked with the Amakhosi vacancy.

However, the Glamour Boys instead opted for Molefi Ntseki. Fast forward to the present and Cavin Johnson is the interim coach and Amakhosi are still in the market for a new long-term coach.

Furthermore, Manqoba Mngqithi still had a year left on his contract.

This time around is different with the Sundowns assistants contract set to expire in June this year.

With this in mind, Amakhosi are reportedly revisiting their interest in the Sundowns assistant coach.

“Phakaaathi has been informed that Kaizer Chiefs have also shown interest in Mngqithi whose contract ends later this year,” the publication reported.

MANQOBA MNGQITHI WANTS TO JOIN AMAKHOSI

Moreover, Mngqithi is actually interested in joining the Soweto giants. In fact, the offer appeals to him.

“The Kaizer Chiefs job is one that appeals to him more but don’t be surprised if AmaZulu come calling again if things don’t go according to plan with their current coach at the end of the season,” an insider told the same publication.
