Kaizer Chiefs coach ‘praying’ for top striker to return end of the year
Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley du Preez had already scored three goals and two assists before his injury two months ago.
Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson hopes his striker Ashley du Preez could return before the year ends.
Amakhosi have missed the 26-year-old forward for much of the season through injury and struggled for goals in his absence.

Du Preez has already scored three goals and two assists in his first 11 games.
He has been out for two months and Johnson hopes he could be ready for Chiefs’ next games before the season break.

“I pray guys, I pray [Du Preez returns] before the end of the year, he’s almost there, I know some of you guys saw him with us [in Polokwane] but he was doing social responsibility for the team,” Johnson was quoted on iDiski Times.

“It’s not that we brought him with to show he’s ready, no he’s about two weeks off.”

End of November, the Chiefs coach said du Preez could be available by end of December.
“There are good signs; Ashley is out on the pitch and running a little bit. According to the medical report that I have, he will return at the end of December,” Johnson told the club’s media department.
