Kaizer Chiefs appoint 8th coach in 8 years

DStv Premiership giants Kaizer Chiefs have employed Cavin Johnson to replace Molefi Ntseki. It’s the eight coach in as many years.

Kaizer Chiefs have made another coaching change to appoint Cavin Johnson as Molefi Ntseki’s replacement. Let’s look at the club’s decisions over the past eight seasons without a trophy.

KAIZER CHIEFS ANNOUNCE CAVIN JOHNSON

After just three wins, four draws and six defeats in 13 games in charge, Molefi Ntseki’s Amakhosi dream was ended on Monday.

His final game and failure was last Saturday’s Carling Knockout last 16 defeat to Amazulu.

“Cavin Johnson will take over as the First Team coach on an interim basis,” the club said on Monday.

“Current assistant coach, Dillon Sheppard will retain his position under Johnson,” the statement concluded.

EIGHT CHANGES IN EIGHT YEARS

Since Stuart Baxter’s departure at the end of the 2014/15 season after winning the league title and the Nedbank Cup, Amakhosi have been changing coaches at a high rate.

2021 – Stuart Baxter ❌

Meanwhile, Johnson is set to make his debut in a league game on Saturday afternoon away to Golden Arrows at 15:30.
