After registering their second draw in a week, frustrated Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro is disappointed and rues the draw as they were held by PSL returnees, Polokwane City.

While Pirates netted first through Patrick Maswanganyi, the PSL returnees found their way back in the game and netted through Given Mashikinya.

Riveiro, in his post-match reaction, said they failed to consolidate their lead and allowed Lehlohonolo Seema’s troops to score an equaliser.

The reigning MTN8 winner, Riveiro says his men made things difficult in the match that was played at Orlando Stadium on Friday night.

Pirates faced City fresh from a goalless draw against AmaZulu on Tuesday night away from home.

“We did the most difficult thing to get the lead, and then we didn’t manage well to to consolidate the result. They found a goal in a lost situation, in a second action, a bit lucky.

“Again one point, we are not satisfied with the point but it is what it is.”

Despite their failure to return to winning ways in the league since they beat Cape Town City back in August, the Spaniard dispels talk of frustration.

The seasoned mentor was quick to dispel talks that they are frustrated as they are yet to win in the league in three matches since beating City 2-0 at home.

“It’s a football game. We don’t have to use ‘frustration’, ‘disappointment’ every time, it’s just a football game,” he adds.

“I think we did enough to score more than one goal. We couldn’t capitalise one more time.

“And in a second action, they could’ve punished us in the first half in one or two transitions where we were not defending well, but in the second half maybe a bit tired after 60/65 minutes.

“And they found one action there. 1-1, they celebrate, we don’t, we move.”

Up next for the Soweto giants is a clash against Cape Town Spurs in the league next week, November 01 at Cape Town Stadium.
