Banyana Banyana coach Desiree Ellis has included Janine van Wyk in her squad that will face Burkina Faso in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifier.

The two nations will play in back-to-back matches with the first leg scheduled for 27 November and the return leg on 5 December.
There are no major changes to the usual squad as Ellis opted to keep the core of the Banyana Banyana team that has continued to make the country proud.

The likes of Kaylin Swart, Andile Dlamini, Karabo Dhlamini, Lebohang Ramalepe, Noko Matlou, and Van Wyk are part of the squad.

Van Wyk is included in the latest Banyana Banyana squad in order to earn her 184th and 185th caps.

JANINE VAN WYK ON THE BRINK OF HISTORY WITH BANYANA BANYANA
Should Van Wyk feature in the two games against Burkina Faso, she would then have set a new African football record for most caps at national level.

As things stand, retired Egyptian footballer Ahmad Hassan holds the record for most caps (184) on the African continent.
And Van Wyk is included in this latest squad for that purpose before she could hang up her boots at international level.
