Jacques Nienaber: No rest for World Cup winner at Leinster
It’s been back to the grind for Jacques Nienaber this week as he has put in his first shifts for his new employers Leinster.
There has been little rest for new Leinster coach Jacques Nienaber after guiding the Springboks to the Rugby World Cup.
Nienaber hasn’t had much time to savour the win before being thrown into the fray with Leinster.

Now part of the backroom team at the Irish powerhouse, Nienaber is still eager to put in the work.
He doesn’t feel like he has had much time off at all despite the World Cup ending over a month ago.

“Winning the World Cup was amazing in terms of what it meant for South Africa,” Nienaber said, adding: “But it was hard work.”
EUROPEAN CHALLENGES AWAIT

Nienaber expressed excitement about working with the Irish players and ultimately getting to play against La Rochelle, the formidable French team dominating the European stage.
The coach will be on the sidelines for his debut game for Leinster when they play Connacht in Round Seven of the United Rugby Championship at The Sportsground in Galway.

“This weekend against Connacht will be massive,” Nienaber said, adding: “It’s always tough there.
“I’ve been there twice with Munster – one tight win and one loss.
“Connacht is always uh it’s always going to be a tough grind out there and we expect nothing less than that.
“Then it’s back in Europe.
“I haven’t been part of the history against La Rochelle, but I saw some footage of it [last two Finals between Leinster and La Rochelle] this past week.
“It’s going to be massive.
“Europe’s always massive, so I am looking forward to that.”
