The winger was registered to play in the Champions League but due to injury, he never played a single match in the competition.

According to Caf, any player who had not featured for his former team would not considered cup-tied meaning Lorch could feature for Mamelodi Sundowns in the group stages as per Soccer Laduma.

“During the same year a player is in principle only eligible to play for one and the same club in CAF inter-club competitions. However, a player even though registered on a list of a club who has not been fielded in any match of inter-club competitions will be authorised to play for another participating club in inter-competitions during the same year so long as all the regulations are compliled with.”
