The international window falls between 18 and 26 March.

“Certainly there will be new players in [the friendlies] in March. I don’t think it will be 10 but there are some positions in the team that require more attention than others.

“For example, on the right side there is no problem and we don’t have to look for another right-back because Khuliso Mudau has Nyiko Mobbie [as cover].

“There are some positions we have to look at. We will see what happens with Themba Zwane. Even if Themba [continues], we need [to groom] someone to replace him.

“I have already spoken with assistant coach Helman Mkhalele and next Friday, when we are back in South Africa, we will try look for new players who will invited for camp in March.

“Let’s hope we find players who can help us in the next games for the World Cup qualifiers.”

Broos also praised his support coaches and medical team in a chat with SAFA media.

HUGO BROOS LAUDS SUPPORT STAFF

The coach is yet to make a call on his future. However, it looks like SAFA are keen to keep him in place.

“I also want to thank the staff, and what I mean by this is – you know when you achieve something like this now, third place, people are talking about the coach, people are talking about the players, but nobody talks about all those other people who worked day and night nearly for four to five weeks,” he told SAFA Media.

He also added: “I’m talking about the medical staff. Those people were working until 1 o’clock in the morning to get the players in good shape again, to give massages, to give treatment. They were always there for the players.

“Without them, we wouldn’t [have] achieved our success. Even the kit manager, the security manager and you Romy [Titus, Bafana Media Officer], you were part of what we did. Without you, we wouldn’t have done it.”

How everyone pulled together as a team delighted Broos.

“So it’s work of a whole team, a whole team that I ask I remember on the first day of the camp, I said ‘I just want one thing that is that everybody works for the good of that team’ and they did it.
