SUPERSPORT UNITED NOT SIGNING GIFT MOTUPA – GAVIN HUNT
The 29-year-old Motupa left Kabo Yellow last month before arriving at SuperSport United for assessment.
“Gift we can’t, we can’t sign him this season,” said Hunt via iDiskiTimes.
“We won’t be able to take him. I have spoken to him. He is just training with us and trying to get fit.
“You know he never had much football action, so he’s just trying to get fit with us and we’ll see by May/June, which is only two, three months away,” Hunt added in reference to Motupa’s lost fitness at Sundowns over three seasons.
Meanwhile, Motupa has signed for his former club, Baroka FC in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
HOW TO STOP SUNDOWNS – JOSE RIVEIRO
In other Sundowns news, Orlando Pirates coach Riveiro has suggested the secret to fighting against Kabo Yellow.
According to Riveiro, Sundowns’ defenders are rather physical and, therefore, require the same challenges.
“We always talk about them when they are attacking, but defending, they are a very committed side and physical players. They are not only technical talent. There is conditional talent as well,” the Pirates mentor added.
“So, the duels with Sundowns are always something else. If we don’t go at the same pace, or the same intention, there is no chance because football is a game of contact, and you cannot expect that every contact is going to be a foul,” he continued.
“If you want to compete with these guys, you have to play at the same level as them at least,” Riveiro concluded.
