Former Kaizer Chiefs defender unimpressed by young players
Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Tlou Molekwane has shared his opinion on the club’s young players, questioning their passion.
Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Tlou Molekwane has questioned the commitment and dedication of the current Amakhosi players.
The Glamour Boys have now nine years without winning any silverware and are less likely to end their drought with the likes of Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns dominating cup competitions.

Chiefs last won a major trophy in 2015 when they lifted the DStv Premiership title but have come close in 2020 only for Sundowns to snatch it from them on the last day.
Molekwana, who played for the Soweto Giants between 2009 and 2012, says the current crop of players are not hungry enough.
“Obviously, it has not been easy for a big club like Kaizer Chiefs to have not been able to bring in any silverware each and every year. I know it has been frustrating for everyone involved in that big brand,” said the ex-Chiefs defender as quoted on FARPost.
“So, my opinion, I believe that the players that we have at Kaizer Chiefs at the moment compared to the previous generation, we had more hunger, you know. We respected the badge because we knew what it meant to wear that Gold and Black jersey.

“Therefore, whenever we got the opportunity to play, we always gave our best. But now, I doubt the efforts and the commitment of the players. I mean, the players are there, and the coach cannot play,” said Molekwana.
Kaizer Chiefs host Milford FC in the Nedbank Cup Round of 32 on Sunday hoping to move one step further to winning the Nedbank Cup.
