Floyd Mayweather splurges R21.4M on Super Bowl

Retired boxing icon, Floyd Mayweather has forked out a whopping R21.4 million to treat 34 of his friends to the Super Bowl.

Retired boxing legend Floyd Mayweather has taken to social media to tell his followers his plans for the Super Bowl in Las Vegas this weekend.

Mayweather, who lives in the city, divulged that he spent $1.131 million (R21.4 million) paying for 34 friends to watch the clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers with him on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium.

In his first Instagram post, Mayweather wrote to his nearly 30 million followers: “I don’t kiss ass and I never have to beg for nothing especially not to get a Super Bowl suite.

“I don’t mind accepting invites at times, but one thing’s for sure… the person that’s paying does all the saying.

“Therefore I get my own seats and suites so I can do what I want and invite who I want!

At the height of his career, Mayweather made hundreds of millions of dollars from fights against the likes of Manny Pacquiao and Conor McGregor.

Mayweather, who will turn 47 on 24 February 2024, retired with a perfect 50-0 record.
